I’m sorry but the Kalos region in Pokemon X and Y reminded me a lot of the map of Weyard for Dark Dawn. The style of the Kalos map reminds me of the Sun Sagas, and the beach and water colors are the same, and if the Weyard mountains were brown they’d be nearly identical to the Kalos mountains. Also look how the forests are grouped together into random shapes. And the snow.
I’m not the only one who sees it, right?
Whenever I see someone complain that names in the newer generation of Pokemon are uncreative, I like to remind them that there is a Pokemon with a name that is literally seal with an ‘e’ instead of an ‘a’ and there is another Pokemon that is just snake backwards, while in the Japanese games there is a Pokemon named Thunder, and a Pokemon named Thunders. And this is all in Gen I. This is not a series adverse to silly “uncreative” names.
2010: These Pokemon are too complicated!
2013: These Pokemon are too simple!
Or it could be that both were true and Game Freak overcorrected on negative feedback
oh wait no that would ruin your clever little joke wouldn’t it it has to be a false dichotomy between cartoony simplicity and overdesigned clutter huh
hey guy who missed the point look i found some new pokemon go discuss these away from us
Pokemon X/Y is going to be set in France.
