Palawan Peacock-Pheasant
(Polyplectron napoleonis)
is a pheasant of the family (phasianidae). they can be found on a single island in the Philippines, Palawan island (thus the name). they are a medium size bird growing up to 50cm long, their most distinguishing characteristic is their plumage, as they have highly iridescent blue feathers on their backs and with peacock like ocelli on their tail feathers (thus the name peacock pheasant. females are smaller than the male and are less colorful. (as the male uses his plumage for mating). due to habitat loss, hunting and limited habitat range they are listed as Vulnerable by the IUCN.
