sometimes priestesses take over the apothecary and when they have to deal with herbs and poultices they wrap their hands and hooves and stuff because they have to keep their arms clean from any potential poisons
they do the same thing during sacrifices to keep their hands free of blood, as they are supposed to not have anyone else’s blood ever touch them or they’re tainted
